‘Spotlight On: GDPR’ session

On 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force, replacing the current Data Protection Act 1998. This session, led by David Freeland, Senior Policy Officer with the Information Commissioner’s Office, will outline the enhanced data protection regime that all organisations will be required to adhere to from May 2018. It will also give attendees the opportunity to discuss questions they have about the use of personal information with the regulator and colleagues. Signposts will be given to relevant guidance and other supporting resources.

This session is suitable for anyone who works or volunteers in the Third Sector and works with personal information on a regular basis or are responsible for data protection compliance in their organisation.

From this informative and interactive session, participants will:

1)     Gain understanding in the principles of the GDPR

2)     Identify ways of demonstrating compliance with the GDPR

3)     Be able to access guidance and other resources to help implement the GDPR in your organisation.

Please note that due to limited numbers – organisations/groups will be restricted to two places each.
