Trellis & HMP Castle Huntly networking & therapeutic gardening good practice sharing event- 7 June 2018

Trellis & HMP Castle Huntly, Longforgan, Nr Dundee, DD2 5HL

Are hosting a networking & therapeutic gardening good practice sharing event.

from 10:00 – 15:30  on 7th June 2018

HMP Castle Huntly staff are keen to meet local organisations who are interested in supporting prisoners to build their gardening and other skills in and outside prison, to help them reintegrate into the community:

  • Supervised work parties of prisoners from HMP Castle Huntly are available to provide regular horticultural ( including green keeping) and agricultural work in the local area. Could that be useful to you?
  • Small one off projects e.g. gardening, hard landscaping, may also be possible
  • Does your project offer volunteering opportunities open to people leaving prison?

Open to all suggestions and ideas – please come along and chat to us.

Join us and meet others interested in supporting this work. As well as lots of opportunities to:

  • Share experiences, news and discussion of gardening in secure settings issues
  • Tour of the HMP Castle Huntly garden department.
  • Training Workshop: Learn how to create a ‘Bag for Life Herb Garden’ .

Please let me know if you would like to attend (limited places available) – email jenny@trellisscotland.org.uk by the 23rd May 2018
