|Job Role:||Applications are invited from any potential candidates for the Project Coordinator (P/T) post working 12 hours per week for 31 months with STRIDE SC044225 who will recruit and train 6 volunteers to help with the delivery of the project. The worker will reach out within the African communities living in the deprived neighborhoods of Dundee city and recruit and work with 45 young people aged between 10 and 18 years over 31 months at risk or are experiencing challenges accessing volunteering opportunities, have been involved in anti-social behaviors or those ones who are NEETS to get involved in our project. The worker will set up 2 groups with one group of young people focused on gardening activities while another focused-on volunteering/employability and IT awareness activities.
Qualifications required for this exciting assignment are as follows:
The Project Coordinator will need to have skills and experience of recruiting and training volunteers from diverse ethnic groups.
The worker will need to be very conversant with the equality and diversity policy and have awareness on how to involve hard to reach communities into events and activities.
The worker will need to have experience and awareness on how to mobilise ethnic minority groups to participate in community events.
The worker will need to be very good at social media and other publicity skills that will be handy in recruiting volunteers and also mobilising young people.
The worker will need to have some basic knowledge and skills of gardening and IT skills and how to involve yooung people in such activities.
The worker will need to be culturaly aware on how to involve mixed groups of people both young people, men and women in group events.
The worker will need some basic understanding of monitoring and evaluation and some understanding of supporting, supervising and managing volunteers from diverse communities.
The worker will need to undergo a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check before they can commence the work.
